CASE STUDY: FROYO-TO-GO FOOD TRUCK

The character outlines were changed to black for more contrast with the background. The sky was filled in with a gorgeous, happy aqua, and the new Froyo to Go logo was placed. The image had been constructed in two directions because it would appear on both sides of the truck, and the logo and characters had to be placed so that they weren't bisected by the sales window, generator, wheel wells, etc. In addition to this, we couldn't just flip the image because the ‘‘S'' on each Skittle would have been backwards. Jason somehow managed to keep his sanity while flipping hundreds of ‘‘S'' logos. The final image file was massive, with more layers than we ever imagined.

CASE STUDY:  FLORIDA CANE DISTILLERY TASTING ROOM

Long-time client Tanya Rubin has been in the ice cream business for decades. Her most recent store, Froyo (established in Tampa, FL in 2010), was so successful that Tanya decided it was time to take her frozen treats on the road. Tanya explained her vision — “I want a food truck that is colorful and fun and has great characters that kids will love.” Netta drew up some very rough sketches to show illustrator Jason Platt what she was thinking. While Jason set up much nicer sketches and dove into the complex image, Netta created a new logo for the mobile business and planned out the configuration of the graphic elements to cover the entire vehicle.
